DVD'oh

The Spousal Unit and I have started subscribing to Blockbuster Online for our movie viewing pleasure. For those unfamiliar with it, it's just like NetFlicks except it's Blockbuster. That's exactly like how the Vanilla Frosty at Wendy's is just like the chocolate except it's vanilla. Anyway, last night we sat down to watch Mean Girls featuring, among others, Lindsay Lohan. I didn't make a link to her because if you don't know who she is than you probably don't have an internet account or an interest in super-hot drug addicts. I mean, super-hot recovering drug addicts. Whichever. We get about 5 minutes into the film and the DVD starts kinda skipping around a little, missing a minute or so, coming back on for a minute, then pausing for a second; the kind of stuff that happens when anything is passed around through the general public who clearly have no idea how to not let their kids ruin everything. I stop the movie and take a look at business side of the DVD and it's just scratched all to hell. This leaves me with one burning question:

Can't a 36 year old pervert and his wife sit down to watch a bunch of smoking-hot high school (supposedly) girls bounce around for an hour or two without it being such a hassle?

Geez.

I cry conspiracy! The L Word DVDs that we've gotten through Blockbuster Online had a much higher rate of scratched/unplayable discs than others. It's Blockbuster's conspiracy against lesbian drama and horrid hottie teen actresses!

If you have Cinemax you should be able to fill that need any night after 11:15.

Mean Girls, it's just like the movie Heathers except it's got Lindsay Lohan intstead of Wynona Rider.

Great. Now I've got "Slow Hands" stuck in my head except, well you know, "we spy, Lindsay Lohan". Thanks.

You missed a good movie. I liked it, but then I'm more of a fan of Tina Fey.

Right it's always the kids that ruin stuff?

How young are these kids that can't operate a DVD player without ruining the DVD, but are old enough to watch Mean Girls?
