The Playoffs Come but Once a Year

It's my favorite time of year- NHL playoff time. It hasn't been all that joyous the last 5 years since my beloved Sabres haven't seen postseason play since 2001 but this year... so far, so good. If she's a hockey fan then my apologies to elle who sometimes reads my blog. She's from Philly and Buffalo kicked the tar out of the Flyers 8-2 tonight and lead the best of 7 series 2-0. OK, I don't actually feel bad. They've beaten up on us often enough before.
The SU and I spend many hours in front of the TV during playoff time. Since we moved from Buffalo we've had to purchase the NHL Center Ice package in order to watch our team so not only do we get to see their games, we get to see basically every game. Great for our hockey addiction, bad for getting to bed at a reasonable hour. Damn west coast games. Well, I'm gonna have to watch the rest of the Dallas/Colorado game from bed. I gotta get some sleep if I expect to stay awake for the Anaheim/Calgary game tomorrow night. It's all about planning folks.
Go Sabres!

Yeah, um, about that. I don't really know anything about sports (cars screeching and glass breaking). Therefore, no offense is taken. All I know about hockey is that my grandfather wanted to play for the Bruins, but I don't think he could skate very well.

Don't feel bad. I live in Buffalo, and I'm pretty sure we'd have to buy a package if we wanted to see any games (other than the 5th one "if necessary". That one is on network, the rest are on MSG or something?

Elle- back in your grandfather's day skating wasn't really required if you wanted to play for the Bruins. Mostly you needed to throw a good right hook.

Everything is making a lot of sense now!
