With both feet. And flailing wildly.

I'm the kind of person who, when I find something I like to do, I obsess about it and want to do it all the time. I'm this way about boardgames. I read about them, think about them, want to own new ones even though I have some I've only played once or twice. I'm this way about ice hockey. I watch as much as possible, more than possible when playoff time comes, I want to skate and go to stick and puck sessions everyday and I play through different scenarios in my head that either happened at last week's game or that I think might happen this week. Where this is leading is that next week I'm going golfing. I golf about once a year. I really like golfing but I blow at it. I don't have the kind of funds it would require to quench my thirst for it if I got seriously into it. I also can't make the time commitment necessary. Believe me, I'd love to though. It just has so much to love. A long walk outside, the weilding of a powerful tool, a delicate touch when needed, and a little luck too. And it's really just you against the course. My primary focus in a sporting event is improving my own play. I don't play hockey to win, I play so I can get better. I don't play softball to be competitive with others, I play to see if I can catch a ball that shouldn't get caught. I do play boardgames to win but really I'm thinking about how to play better for myself, how I could be more creative or what play would've worked better. I like golf a lot. It's just best that I keep my distance. At least for now.

It was either you or loki who'd make that comment. Loki will almost surely reach deeper into the depths of filth for hers.

Huh. Self-improvement for its own sake. As a concept in its own right. Who knew?

Weird ain't it? But that's how I roll.

That's alright. Golf blows too. I played it for 30 years and never got any better at it. My clubs and bag now house lots of spiders. Spiders blow too.

I really like golf. I'll even watch it on TV. As a matter of fact the SU and volunteer at an LPGA event every year. I volunteer as a "Standard Bearer". If you ever watch golf on TV you'll see somebody following a group of golfers while carrying a sign which displays the scores of the golfers in that group. That would be my job. It totally rules. And those girls can golf.

I got obsessed with Big Money, the computer game, and I'd strategize about it while I was in class. The same thing happened with the Sims... obsessions are bad news for people that don't have the funds or time to give into them. That's why drug addicts have so much on the general population.

What exactly do you mean by "a delicate touch when needed"? Does that involve a few beers and your golfing partner?

Ummm, something like that. And you thought "hitting the 19th hole" meant going to the clubhouse for a beer.
